Frequently Asked Questions
What should I expect from my first session?
I always start with a full bodycheck! This gives me time to speak with you and learn more about your horse while allowing your horse to get the chance to know me and get comfortable. The bodycheck tells me where the horse is tight, what bones are moving and any asymmetry that's come from chronic issues. Next is the Primary cause analysis where I find why the horse is imbalanced. I then do a full TBT session starting with the four primaries; the Sternum, Pelvic Symphysis, Sacrum and Atlas. From there I work from head to tail to align your horse.
How long until I see results?
In my experience you will see immediate small changes, especially if the imbalance/lameness was noticeable. If the misalignment is due to a recent injury the problem usually resolves within the month following a full body session. If the misalignment is due to a chronic imbalance then the timeline depends. I have found that for every year of the imbalance it takes one full body session. Consistency is key!
How often should I have my horse worked on?
My ultimate goal is for your horse to stay balanced for longer periods of time and develop a schedule that fits them. From the first session I like to return within four weeks, this allows me to see what's the same, what's new and what has stayed balanced. From the second session, we see if the horse needs to stay at another four weeks or can move up. For horses who are ridden regularly I like to work up to a twelve week scheduling. With TBT I am working with the primary cause which lessens the need to be seen frequently because the imbalance is healing and not just getting temporary relief or being masked.
